CNNIC Organizes 2024 Annual Training and Exchange Event for Registrars

Aiming to gain comprehensive insights into the Internet infrastructure industry dynamics and promote high-quality development of national top-level domains, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) held its 2024 Annual Training and Exchange Event for Registrars in Beijing on October 11, with a focus on industry development and user needs.

The event centered on in-depth interpretations and comprehensive discussions of policies, cooperation mechanisms, compliance supervision, and review management requirements critical to registrars. Distinguished experts from various organizations were invited to share their expertise, including:

l  Zhou Dandan, Legal Officer at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center

l  Zhang Jianchuan, Stakeholder Engagement Senior Director - Asia at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)

l  Wu Xiucheng, Vice President of Coremail

l  Dr. Yao Jiankang from CNNIC

These experts led specialized seminars and engaging discussions on key topics such as domain name dispute resolution services, Universal Acceptance (UA) of Chinese domain names, and the technical development, application transformation, and infrastructure deployment of Chinese email addresses. Participants actively engaged in Q&A sessions, creating a lively atmosphere. The registrars expressed high satisfaction with the content and outcomes of the training, noting that the event highlighted key elements, important matters, and critical junctures for promoting domain name business. It also helped them deepen their understanding of relevant policies and business regarding national top-level domains, as well as trends and developments in Internet infrastructure.

Going forward, CNNIC remains committed to closely tracking challenges and gathering feedback from registrars. The center will continually refine and enhance training content, ensuring timely and responsive support for the professional development and knowledge enhancement of registrars’ personnel.

The event saw robust participation, with 25 representatives from 22 Beijing-based registrars attending in person, and an additional 78 representatives from 43 registrars in other areas joining via online streaming.
